The map shows the area immediately adjacent to the villa.

Ayamonte is certainly one of the hidden gems of the Costa de la luz coastline and was once known just as a small fishing village on the outer extremities of Spain. It's adjacent to the Guadiana river which forms the border with Portugal.

Now it's fast becoming known as the "Spanish Algarve", with more than 16,000 inhabitants and some of the finest white sandy beaches on the peninsula, such as Isla Canela and Punta del Moral.

Golfers will also feel welcome wiith the renowned 27 holes of Islantilla Golf Course just minutes away.

Most of all, Ayamonte offers a magical glimpse of typical Spanish life. The centre is packed with atmosphere all day and into the evening. The narrow cobbled streets are full of restaurants and cafes and with many bars, shops and boutiques, the town is lively all year round.

The town also has a picturesque marina which is lined with palm trees, and a port where you can catch the ferry to Villa Real, the Portuguese town on the opposite shore.

Access to the nearby airports is also excellent. Faro (Portugal) is 45 minutes drive and Seville around 75 minutes. Both offer year round services from full-service, charter and low cost carriers alike.
